Ingmar, You should not have had to install the Distiller that came with FrameMaker 7 if your copy of Acrobat 5.0.5 was properly installed. I suspect that what REALLY happened was that when you “reinstalled Acrobat 5.0.5” you didn't fully install it or the installation failed in some way. Possibly, you didn't fully uninstall what you had before and as such, the installer made improper assumptions about the health of your configuration. Installing the FrameMaker-bundled version of Distiller seeming fixed that, but could have also screwed-up other aspects of your system. Only time will tell. If you already have Acrobat 5.0.5 installed on your system or the Distiller 5.0.5 from FrameMaker and you want to upgrade to Acrobat 6, it is best to totally uninstall Acrobat 5.0.5 or Distiller 5.0.5 (or run both uninstallers if you did both installs), reboot, then install Acrobat 6. (Note that Acrobat 6 has not been released yet! We are talking about what to do when it is available!) - Dov At 5/5/2003 02:23 AM, Ingmar Köser wrote: >Hi framers, >because of some errors I decided to re-install Acrobat 5.0.5, >Framemaker 7.0 on a W2k machine and I remembered the problems I had the >last time.
