FW: Two-paged table on landscaped master pages

Rokas St.

Are you sure that you can't redesign the table to be vertical?
It seems much more convenient to take half the columns and put them in a separate table, then specify that the left half of the table would always be on a left page. Depending on the size of the type in the cells, and the width of the inner margins, you might need to repeat the far left column on the right-hand page.

It should be much easier than dealing with special master pages.

Here is an example, using your ASCII diagram with alterations:

   connection of left/right pages
                 |
_________________V__________________<- top (normal)
                 |
                 |
   Table 13-2L | Table 13-2R
AFDSFSDGDFGDFH | AFDHFHSHSHSHGS <- heading row
  adfdffadfadfad | fdfdfdfffasdfa
  asdfsafasfdasf | asdfdfafafafas
  sadfasfadsfasd | fafadfafdsfasd
  afasdfasfasfas | fasdfafdfasdfa
  asdffasdfasdfa | dsfafdasdfadfa
  asdfafadfadfaf | adfadfafaafafa
                 |
_________________|__________________<- bottom (normal)

I hope this helps--or perhaps inspires a better idea.

Subject: Two-paged table on landscaped master pages

Hi!

I'm experiencing such a problem - on a portait oriented book I have to put
a wide table using landscaped pages. What are the best sollutions to do
that? I don't want the table title and the heading rows to be repeated and
I want the table to be centered like this:

________________________________ <- top (left page)

        Table 13-2
 AFDSFSDGDFGDFHAFDHFHSHSHSHGS <- heading row
 adfdffadfadfadfdfdfdfffasdfa
 asdfsafasfdasfasdfdfafafafas
-------------------------------- <- connection of left/right pages
 sadfasfadsfasdfafadfafdsfasd
 afasdfasfasfasfasdfafdfasdfa
 asdffasdfasdfadsfafdasdfadfa
 asdfafadfadfafadfadfafaafafa

________________________________ <- bottom (right page)

Sorry for stupid ASCII graphics, but I hope this will help to describe my
thoughts.
One more thing - when I use rotated master pages for this it's very
inconvenient to change the amount of text in the preceeding pages, because
everytime I have to redefine which page uses which master - is thete a
sollution for that?
