Go to this URL and read about it. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/55/30199.html This flaw affects almost all flavors of Windoze. The patch was made available by Microsoft on April 9, and is now available on the Windows Update site. Install it. The Flaw is in the virtual maching that allows Java programs to run. Any website you go to can cause such Java programs to be run on your machine. In effect, going to a malicious website which exploits this flaw will allow that site to take over your computer for almost any imaginable purpose. Below is a recap of the problem, which is clearly very serious. ================================== The more serious problem, involving Microsoft's virtual machine (Microsoft VM), which enables Java programs to run on Microsoft Windows, provides a mechanism for attackers to run amok on Windows PCs. Microsoft has released a fix designed to address the problem, which affects users of Windows 98, NT 4, Windows 2000, XP and Windows Me. Attacks including "changing data, loading and running programs, and reformatting the hard disk", might be possible, according to the low-fat version of Microso FrameMaker/FrameMaker+SGML Document Design & Database Publishing DW Emory <danemory@globalcrossing.net> ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
