Color difference in Framemaker to PDF conversion

I am creating graphics in Framemaker and saving as PDF.  The color I see on-screen in Framemaker is different than the color on-screen in the PDF (PDF is lighter).

The color is Pantone 3295 from the Framemaker catalog.  The destination is a silk screener so the way it looks on the PDF screen really doesn't matter.

I like the color in Framemaker but the PDF version is unacceptable.  I'm aware that color management is a very large topic so I won't ask for a real explanation, maybe just a clue or a lead on some documentation.  

Is the PDF preserving all the color information for the printer (so I shouldn't worry) or is the PDF revealing a problem in the way I am dealing with color?
