Tammy, You obviously must be relatively new to this list. PostScript is NOT a device-independent language. When you create PostScript using the PostScript driver instance of the LaserJet 8100, you are creating PostScript for that device, a monochrome laser printer. You should be printing to the Acrobat Distiller printer driver instance. Unless you are creating PDF for a book, there is no reason to explicitly create a PostScript file. Simply print to the Acrobat Distiller printer instance and it will funnel the PostScript directly to the Distiller for you, prompting you for where you want to place the resultant PDF file and what you want to name it. If creating a PDF file from a book under FrameMaker 6, you can create a PostScript file for distillation with this printer driver instance, simply use the "print to file" option in the FrameMaker print dialog. - Dov At 11/6/2002 10:12 AM, Tammy VanBoening wrote: >Hi, > >I am using FM 6.0, Adobe 5.0 and an working in an Windows 2000 environment. > >For my FM source files, I have set the following Print Book options: >* Generate PDF boomarks >* Flip on Long Edge >* Color Printing >* I have also selected the paragraph tags that I want to appear as >bookmarks in my PDF file >* I have set the printing destination to the proper watched folder > >For my Acrobat options: >* I have set up watched folders >* I have accepted all the defaults (compatible for Adobe 4.0) > >I am using an HP8100 postscript printer to create .ps files for my FM book. >As the .ps files are being created, I receive one of those infamous Frame >internal error messages that says the FM must quit and it does - it crashes >completely. > >What is weird is that my .pdf file is still generated, but I receive >numerous error messages about destinations, etc. > >When I open my .pdf, I see absolutely no bookmarks - I even checked that the >Document > Open options are set to Page and Bookmarks. > >I have successfully generated this book using Adobe 4.0 and watched folders, >but now, I can't w/ 5.0.
