Thread-Topic: Line lengths vary - intercharacter spacing?
You can set the word spacing under the Advanced Tab in the Paragraph designer. Set them all to 100% (or whatever you like). Craig -----Original Message----- From: John Bell (VA) [mailto:jbell@siebel.com] Sent: Tuesday, November 05, 2002 9:47 AM To: Free Framers Subject: Line lengths vary - intercharacter spacing? I recently inherited a book that has a lot of code samples. We use 9 pt Courier for these samples, and I noticed that the length of the lines vary depending on whether the line is terminated with a soft or hard return. Consider these two lines: Inclusion[0] == AKH.condition[1]<soft return> Inclusion[1] == AKH.condition[2]<hard return> I would expect them to have the same length, but the line that ends with a hard return is shorter than the line with a soft return. If I change the hard return to a soft return, then the line lenths are equal, but I get a space between the code and the next paragraph. Is this Courier typeface not truly monospaced? Or is there some other setting I'm missing?
