Most of the time, TextPad does it for me. http://www.textpad.com/ It's a general-purpose text editor that supports regular expressions in open files and on disc. Also supports a range of character encodings including Unicode in UTF-8 and UTF-16, which is increasingly handy. The best of the lightweights is BBEdit, but it's only available on Mac. Or there's a Windows Emacs, which inspires strong emotions of all kinds among its users. -- Mark Barratt Text Matters phone +44 (0)118 986 8313 fax +44 (0)118 931 3743 email markb@textmatters.com web http://www.textmatters.com ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
