I do a lot of consulting and generally charge more for on-site work than work done at my office. At my office I may take other calls (can't do that at the client site), and I can check email to answer anything pressing. When a consultant is on site, s/he is giving you 100% of his/her attention. You should expect to pay a premium if the consultant has to travel to your site and possibly inconvenience other clients who have to wait until the next day for a response. Also, you might expect to have a minimum # of hours for off-site work, but not for work done at the consultant's office. Besides, there's a lot to be said for working in your sweats and fuzzy slippers. :-) Best regards, Becky Swanson Benchmark Publications Group, Inc. www.benchmarkpubs.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jane Post" <jane@asconline.com> To: "Framers (E-mail)" <framers@FrameUsers.com>; "Free Framers (E-mail)" <framers@omsys.com> Sent: Friday, September 20, 2002 10:14 AM Subject: Question concerning Consultant's rates... Can anyone tell me if a consultant would (should?) charge a different rate for work done "onsite" in our office versus it being done in their home/office?? Thanks, Jane E.
