Thank you for your answer

TIFF should still be supported and it works on Windows. So it seems to be a
FM 7 bug.

Could you please give me some more information about the known problem with
TIFF formats? I didn't find it.
I made some more tests with epstool and different preview-formats. The
problem is with tiff6 packbits. When I use tiff6 uncompressed, FrameMaker
7.0 on UNIX displays the graphs, but the filesize is about 6 times the
filesize of the packed version. So in most of my examples the files are too
big to handle then. E.g. FrameMaker 7 on Windows NT seemd to hang when I
tried to import such files (I killed it after 1 hour).

epsi can not be used with MS-office and the epsi I can generate with
epstool is only monochrome.

Any more ideas about this?
Could I use another tool than epstool to include previews into eps-files.
The tool should run on AIX.

Thanks for your help.
