And how successful has HATT been at "pressuring" such companies in
the recent past?  LOL!!  Rather than waste time jawboning, we will
create a real alternative.  Then pressure won't be necessary; simple
self-interest (for the vendors) will cause migration from proprietary
viewers to the new "standard" viewer.

Note that for the tool vendors, the viewer is a major loser.  It
does not increase product sales, and attempts to build advertising
into it <g> are met with (appropriate) furious resistance from Help
authors.  It is a drain for tech support, and whenever a browser
maker puts out a new version there are a new set of headaches to
deal with.  Any sane tool vendor will welcome a chance to shed this
burden gracefully... but there *does* have to be a viable alternative.
We aim to provide that.
