Jim, It is undocumented, but true, that Acrobat Distiller does not embed full fonts in many circumstances, even when the subset option is not selected. In particular, TrueType and OpenType fonts, when embedded by the Distiller, are not fully embedded. This has to do with the font size. Many of these fonts are in the multiple megabyte range. There should be no problem in printing or displaying PDF files that have only subsetted fonts. It is only an urban legend that you need the full font to do "text touchup" in Acrobat. In fact, to use Acrobat's "text touchup" facility, the full font must be installed on the system on which the touchup is being done. Problems combining PDF files with different subsets of the same font have been pretty resolved with Acrobat 5 and the current drivers. - Dov At 8/1/2002 12:51 PM, Jim Stauffer wrote: >Win98, FM 6; Acrobat 5.0 > >I was preparing a PDF for a printer who requested all fonts be fully >embedded, e.i. no subsetting.
