Actually, if the driver instance for your LaserJet 8100 "likes" the
fonts, but the Acrobat Distiller printer driver instance doesn't,
it is a very clear sign that in fact, you probably don't actually
have the New Century Schoolbook and Helvetica fonts installed on
your computer. In other words, they are probably only printer-resident
for you. That is EXACTLY one of the reasons why we insist that you
use the Acrobat Distiller printer driver instance for producing
PDF AND that we recommend the hacks to edit the PPD files to eliminate
all the fonts (except Courier)!
