That's one solution. But I think a better approach is to use the "At Insertion Point" anchor postion rather than the default "Below Current Line" positioning. This places the paragraph mark *after* the frame so that there is no open line of any height above the frame itself. If you do use this technique, though, you must make sure that the paragraph that holds the anchor is *not* set for fixed line spacing because it must expand the height line that holds the anchor spacing to allow room for the graphic. Another thing you may or may not have noticed is that even if the anchored frame is right at the top of the text column, there is still some white space between the edges of the graphic itself and the edges of the anchored frame that contains it. FrameMaker automatically adds this default "pad" whenever it creates an anchored frame to contain an imported graphic file. The easiest way to get rid of this pad is to use the "shrink-wrap" command (press Escape, m, p in sequence), which also sets the frame's position to "At Insertion Point". How convenient! The trick I've used is to define a new paratag for this purpose and assign it a 4 pt font. This leaves only a miniscule gap at the top. When I import a graphic (File>Import>File), and (when necessary) the graphic places itself at the top of a new page in an anchored frame, it leaves a gap between the anchored frame and the page border. How do I remove this gap? I have discovered that choosing the Floating option on the Anchored Frame dialog box will eliminate this gap but it causes other text positioning problems when text is added or deleted above the position of the graphic. I want to be able to solve my problem without using a method that will upset the positioning of the text above and below the graphic.
