It really does have to be *all* the chars. If you have even one to which the format is *not* applied, it does not cause the para override. What may throw you off is that if the last char has the format applied, the para mark will also appear to have the format. In Word, this *would* indicate a para override in effect, but not in Frame. You can still use Default P Font to get back to the real original para format char properties, and the staus bar does not show an asterisk for the para format. -- Jeremy H.
