Re: LOGO

I would not say it is "preferable" to import a graphic (logo) onto a Master page
by reference. I think it depends on the situation whether you import by copying
or by reference. If you plan to move the files, send them to others, etc., or if
you are creating a template for uninitiated users to use, then you should copy
the graphic onto the Master pages. While it may make the file size a little
larger, you'll never have to worry about the graphic not showing up.

If you have a good, stable housekeeping system, you can import graphics by
reference and not worry about them not appearing.

I get asked "which is best?" questions all the time by my students. The standard
answer is: "It depends." You should assess your work flow and your options
before making decisions such as whether or not to import graphics by reference.

Any content that you want to repeat from page to page in a constant
location is best handled via master pages. If the logo is not realized
via a special font, but rather via a graphic, it is indeed better to
import, preferably by reference.
