Re: Driver & Distiller Settings Phor Phun & Prophet!

Dov,

I tried to follow your advice, and now receive the following error on my
Windows XP Professional system. I'm using Acrobat 5.0.5 (5.0 plus the .0.5
update downloaded from Adobe's website).

After making the changes you suggest, I tried printing from FrameMaker+SGML
6.05p405 with XP patch (also MS Word and Excel) to the Acrobat Distiller
printer (which simply reports using the "AdobePS Acrobat Distiller" driver),
but I received the following message:

[ When you create a postscript file you have to send the host fonts.
Please go to the Acrobat Distiller printer properties "Adobe PDF Settings"
page and turn OFF the option "Do not sent fonts to Distiller" ]

and terminates the print task when I click the OK button (the only choice
available).

This appears to directly contradict your advice (excerpted below) for
obtaining the best quality PDF output. If I re-enable sending fonts (by
unchecking the "Do not send fonts to Distiller" check box) then I can generate
a postscript file to distill.

Please don't duck and cover, but can you kindly explain what is going on?

Thank you very much for your patience, and wonderful advice to the multiple
