I have found this to be a problem as well. I agree with the other responders about the right/left justification. Right justify the numbers (to column 6, for example) and left justify the title (to column 10?). The ToC template can be set up with these tabs, I assume. If so, your problem is solved, even if it looks a little funny. Would it be possible to put the numbers AFTER the titles, sticking out to the right? This might be okay unless you have the page numbers there. The problem would also be fixed if you incorporate leading zeros. The associated problem of alphabetization of numbers also causes havoc in my indexes. Consider that the "alphabetical" order of the following numbers isn't the numerical order: 1,10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 2, 20, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. It's the old issue of a DOS listing of files in a directory. What I have learned to do is to place the appropriate leading zeros in the numbers. The listing above then becomes: 01, 02, 03, 04... Is there a way for the ToC generator to add these leading zeros automatically?
