Acrobat Distiller 5.0.5 allows PDF files to be saved as PDF 1.2 (Acrobat 3.0-compatible), PDF 1.3 (Acrobat 4.0.x- compatible), or PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5.0.x-compatible). Theoretically, depending upon the version of PDF generated, you should be able to use the corresponding version of Acrobat or later to edit the resultant PDF file. I personally don't accept wish list items. Lee Richardson and our marketing folks are the ones who monitor for that. But quite frankly, FrameMaker 7 is in advanced beta now. New features have not being added to FrameMaker 7 for a while now. - Dov At 4/10/2002 11:50 AM, Lin Sims wrote: >Would we need to purchase Adobe Acrobat 5 in order to edit the >resulting PDFs, or can we set the Distiller options to save in a format >that will allow us to edit with Acrobat 4? > >I know, I know--5 is better (I own it at home); unfortunately, I expect >the company I work for is going to balk at upgrading all the FM 556 we >have to FM7, even if we get in at the reduced upgrade rate of $209 per >copy in the first 3 months.
