Any way >you slice it, it's a workaround. Sure HTML has a footnote capability! It just doesn't have a footnote *tag*... because it doesn't need one. You just put in the reference number, formatted as you wish, as an plain <a> link to the footnote content at the bottom of the page (or on its own Notes page, your choice). Throw in a <hr> above the footnotes, or just use a different enough style (face, size) to distinguish from the text, and you're all set. Of course, Mif2Go does this automatically with FrameMaker footnotes, which may wind up looking better in HTML than in Frame due to the lack of print limitations... -- Jeremy H.
