Hi, Matthias. Some remarks.. Most essential distinctions 1. FrameMaker 6 + FrameMaker+SGML 6 => FrameMaker 7 (FrameMaker+SGML 6 has died) 2. FrameViewer has died (as well as FrameReader) 3. PlacedPDF 1.4 (and it seems, Tagged PDF also) has not been supported in UNIX 4. SVG has not been supported in HP-UX and AIX 5. Unicode support in FM7 is THE SAME as in Framemaker 5.5 and 6. If you like, start FM6 and save Greek (or Polish, Epthiopic, Czech, Russian or Thai) FM document as XML with UTF8 encodung. See the result with your favourite XML viewer. FM 7 and FServer 7 both have absolutelly the same support of Unicode. Take a look at the section "Q. Does FrameMaker 7.0 support Unicode characters in XML files?" in faq_xml.pdf and the section "Q. In what languages can I author documents using FrameMaker 7.0?" in faq.pdf. Even the CID-encoding support that Frame has for CJK, was not used to extend the language authoring abilities in this new version of great product. 6. It seems the OpenType font format support (for Adobe OpenType Pro families f.ex.) is missed in FM7.
