Jeanie, I'm not sure you've got it quite right. It's a question of whether the relative path to the referenced graphics or text changes that determines whether references are lost or not when a file is moved. The connection to the root level is that if the root is crossed by the relative path to the references (before the files are moved), FM will create an absolute link and not a relative one. Ian Saunders is completely correct IF the structure can be copied, with the same relative paths, AND the paths did not have the root level in them. But to save the work of figuring out which illustrations and insets to copy, Bruce Foster's Archive plug-in is the way to go. Eric L.
