Yes, this has been asked before, but I'm looking for more details... I will summarize to the list if I receive enough interesting information. We are upgrading from FM 5.5.x to FM 6, on Windows. I'm looking for information on such an upgrade: * What new features in FM6 change the way you set up and work with FM documents? I know of the new book window and book-wide features in general, but I want more details. Is there anything in particular you have to look out for, or that's easy to miss? (I know about <$chapnum>, see below.) * What changes have been made to functions, dialogs and menus? Are there dialogs that have been greatly redesigned, or moved to completely new menu places? * Any problems converting FM 5.5.x documents? I was told the new <$chapnum> and <$volnum> variables would be introduced in the files automatically (perhaps after displaying a warning), but I haven't noticed this in my very first initial tests of FM6... * Any problems, bugs, or irritating design flaws we should be aware of? I know of Schlomo's web page: http://www.microtype.com/resources/FMbugs.html Some say the scroll-back bug isn't really fixed, and that double-clicking a file in the book doesn't open it. Of course, we will test FM6 with our current documents before making the switch, and we could figure out all this by experimenting on our own. But, if you can share your experiences with me, it will ease the effort.
