I fully agree with everything Eric Dunn said on what aspiring tech writers should try to include in their tool kit. To this I would add: o a broad general knowledge about different technologies (a science degree wouldn't hurt) and how business works. It is difficult to know what kinds of jobs may be available - but almost all of them will be with organisations who will be concerned with their bottom lines. You always need to be aware that what you write should be to help improve a product or help to ensure that processes you document can be done or knowledge you create can be found for a lower cost. o the ability to solve problems and think outside of the box. In your career you will undoubtedly be faced with seemingly impossible problems. Success will depend on how well you deal with them.
