The ability to fully import EPS, PDF, and/or AI files implies that the internals of FrameMaker be dramatically revised to be able to deal with any of the graphic objects that may appear via the PostScript and PDF imaging models. At a minimum, FrameMaker would need to be equipped with a full PostScript 3 and PDF interpreter/distiller for import. File formats would need major changes, etc. Such changes are not in the current cards. - Dov At 12/1/2000 09:46 AM, edunn@transport.bombardier.com wrote: >>>In general, the most consistently reliable and efficient import mechanism >>>into FrameMaker on all platforms, assuming that your output is either a >>>PostScript or PDF workflow (and of course, you can get to non-PostScript >>>printing via a PDF workflow) is EPS with fonts embedded and a PC-compatible >>>TIFF preview. >>> >>> - Dov > >My question would be when will FM be able to import EPS and display it without >needing the preview?
