No Subject

Hello all-
I am new to this list and new to FrameMaker. This is my first posting - I
have been enjoying the questions and the wonderfully helpful responses.

I was recently switched from FM 5.5 to 6. I am, so far, editing documents
that were developed by other writers on unknown versions, so I open them in
v6 to work on them.  Is there anything I should be aware of in this process.
Is it the 'FM way' to be respectfully backward compatible?

My second question is in relation to storing FM files in MS Visual Source
Safe.  I think that putting the files into vss then checking them out has
corrupted the files, namely the graphics. Might this be a user error ; ) -
does anyone have any experience with this problem?
