Friends- I think we can all agree that taking our careers to the highest level requires a mix of good technical bandwidth and verbal communication skills. No doubt, we have all suffered at the hands of colleagues who were blessed with one skill but not the other. For me, the one personality trait that really makes it all come together is natural curiosity, especially about things technical. I love to learn about stuff. Many find this a drudgery; I feel like a kid in a candy store. I get to work with some of the most brilliant people I could ever hope to meet. I have the privilege of taking their "stone tablets" down the mountain to the user community. When I encounter a writer who is not naturally curious, I can just about predict the quality of their work - dismal. If this career didn't exist, I'd have to invent it. Warmest Regards, Michael L.
