Acrobat 4.0 to 4.05

Framers list:

Acrobat 4 PDFMaker is incompatible with Word 2000 which was released
after Acrobat 4. Acrobat 4.05 fixes the problem. Be sure to uninstall
Acrobat 4 before installing 4.05!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Does this instruction to deinstall Acrobat 4.0 before installing 4.05
apply to all platforms?
