Frame doesn't use a PPD. The PPD data gets copied into the "printer instance" when a PostScript "printer" is created. So when you print, you get the PPD associated with the chosen printer instance. It's unclear to me which "printer" Frame uses when you Save As PDF. In most cases, an appropriate printer seems to be chosen, but in some cases not. It would be interesting to hear someone from Frame discuss just what happens (or should happen) when saving as PDF -- just how does a "printer" get selected? Also, does the underlying logic of this selection vary from version to version of Frame?
