Holy Moly, Ed and Jerilynne (as well as others who looked on in wonderment) I did not have that option box checked. But I avoided it purposefully, not be default, because I erringly thought it was there to make bookmarks (which I didn't need in this instance). Little did I realize, until now, that it's the only way that cross referenced hyperlinks can appear in the pdf. I presume this means that if I don't check Acrobat Data, I won't get hyperlinks for the generated table of contents, for the generated index or for any links individually added in Framemaker. With all that value, seems to me that Adobe would have the generation of Acrobat Data a default condition rather than an option, but I guess hyperlinking in a pdf is not what the typical user wants. ~ Bill ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bill Fetzner, Technical Writer Electronics Theatre Controls, Inc. When you save as PDF, it automatically goes through the Acrobat setup. It doesn't when you're just printing to file. ....Ed
