Well, thank you all for you help and suggestions. As there were so many people who tried to help, please accept my public thanks. In short, I've dumped the text insets and am now using regular headings and tables. With the conditions applied all works fine. It would seem that the quirks involved with text insets are a little too much for me to try and correct right now. My referencing text insets with conditional text is working fine where I am still using it. To solve (some of) my problems and keep the insets would require minuscule separating paragraphs between each inset. As I could not guarantee consistent results, I abandoned the idea to get my file to print. What threw me for a loop (and I challenge anyone to recreate the scenario) is that the table titles had become conditional. Not just the titles, but the title box as well. This was true in the source files. I don't know how it happened because I have been unable to recreate the situation or indeed make the title box unconditional. This strange occurrence is what forced me to rebuild all the tables and put the final nail in the coffin for the insets idea. FM seems to leave a bit of room for improvement in how text insets are handled and how conditional text is handled for full paragraphs. Anything involving end of paragraph markers or especially end of file markers is very problematic. Being able to make entire insets conditional would be a great addition. Eric L.
