First off, I'll need to use the PPD that >my Print Shop tells me is the best for postscript generation. You do not use the PPD the print shop tells you to use for postscript generation from FrameMaker if that postscript is going to be distilled. Also, step 5 is superfluous. When producing a postscript file for Distiller, you use the PPD for Distiller. Think about it. The whole purpose of a PPD is to produce postscript that is compatible with the target device. The target device, in this case, is Acrobat Distiller, NOT the printing device. Instead of sending a postscript file to the print shop, you send the PDF file instead. The print shop, when printing from Acrobat, selects the PPD for the target printer. ==================== | Nullius in Verba | ==================== Dan Emory, Dan Emory & Associates FrameMaker/FrameMaker+SGML Document Design & Database Publishing Voice/Fax: 949-722-8971 E-Mail: danemory@primenet.com 10044 Adams Ave. #208, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 ---Subscribe to the "Free Framers" list by sending a message to majordomo@omsys.com with "subscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
