Safegarding Mstr Pages

Framers,

Scenario
I have a series of template files that are the pieces of a book file. That is: a "title page" template; a "prelims" template; a TOC template; a "chapter" template; et cetera. The chapter template has a pagination scheme that uses a hyphenated number that displays both the chapter and page number. E.g., 1-3; 2-2; 3-7. In the book's preliminary templates, however, including the TOC, the numbering is, naturally, single digit roman (iii).

Desired Result
What I want to do is "safeguard" the Right and Left Master Pages of "preliminary" files, which use the single digit number in the footer, against the possibility of being overwritten by the Right and Left of the "chapter" file(s). (There are various reasons for this need, which I won't go into.)

Possible Solution
I can create a new set of "right and left" Master Pages just for this purpose, giving them an altered name, such as P-Right and P-Left. But these will not, to my knowledge, automatically generate themselves as the text expands to a new page. That is, the Master Pages will have to be added, on an as needed bases, as a custom Master Page.

Question(s)
Is there a way to command Frame to automatically "generate" the hypothetical P-Right and P-Left as the text expands to a new page? That is, to act in the same manner as the boilerplate Right and Left Master Pages.

Or is there an alternative solution?

Thanks,

Colin
