Jason is creating PDF files at 2400 dpi. On Windows, crop marks are done with bitmaps. At 2400 dpi, that's a lot of bits, so the PDF files get notably larger. This is logged as a bug, with Jason's sample files, and his item on framemaker-feedback. I think we understand the issue pretty well at this point. ...Lee : Lee Richardson : mailto:lhr@adobe.com : +1 408.536.6412 : : Dev Mgr, FrameMaker : Adobe Systems, Inc : +1 408.537.5113 fax : At 12:13p -0500 4/5/00, Jason Aiken wrote: >I have often railed that PDF bloat on Windows is far worse than other platforms. In my case, the bloat source has been identified as printing with registration marks on. Since FrameMaker offers different options for registration marks (Western, Tombo, or none), we should request that future releases offer simple crop marks which do not bloat PDF file size to avoid making them manually. > >If you are concerned about file size, I urge you to join me in writing an email message addressed to: > >framemaker-feedback@adobe.com > >For those that don't remember or are new, this address is Adobe's channel to receive our enhancement requests to the product. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
