If you want to make *all* overrides (indicated by the "*") go away,
try File | Import -> Formats...  In the Import Formats dialog, set 
Document at the top to "Current".  Check all the boxes in the upper 
part (or at least the ones you care about, like the first two, Para 
and Char formats), and the right-hand box in the lower part (Remove
Other Format/Layout Overrides).  Import.  Reward yourself with more
eggnog. <g>
