RE: Adobe Certified Newsletter -- notice about FrameMaker

Reading the words in that announcement one would be encouraged. It's strong language. Here's the salient part.

" For this event, we will begin our first day with the FrameMaker Product Manager from Adobe Systems providing a Keynote presentation. If you are interested in the future of Adobe FrameMaker, you will want to come and hear from the TOP FrameMaker product management what their plans are for this software tool. You don't want to miss this! Quell those rumors of FrameMaker's demise by hearing straight from "the horse's mouth" about all that is coming in the future for Adobe FrameMaker.

NOTE: This presentation will be recorded and available for purchase by conference attendees, so that you can buy a copy and play it each time someone tries to pass along a rumor of FrameMaker's death."

The thing not acknowledged here is that one of the big plusses with FrameMaker used to be its cross-platform support. It solved a BIG problem for us, and now we have the problem back. Adobe should do the right thing and get it back on OS X, make and sell a Linux copy for the most popular couple of distros, and make it the cross platform champ it always was. That, and a few other tweaks (like fixed footnotes) and they would be able to hold, or take back, the academic book publishing business.

I feel a rant coming on so I'll shut up and go back to work.
