Thank you for this tip, Mary, I tried it, but unfortunately this does 
not help. Since PDF conversion with "save as pdf" works for other 
"unusual" paper sizes, it must be this specific size that breaks it. 
When using "Save as pdf", the document size is correctly displayed in 
the pdf settings dialog.

It seems to me it is a postscript print driver problem, because when I 
do a print into file with the "Adobe PDF" printer selected, the 
postscript file generated is empty. If I scale the document down 50% and 
print it into file (paper size A2), it works. This was installed out of 
the box. WinXP.

Maybe Adobe has bundled a very old pdf printer driver with FM 7.1? 
Acrobat 3.0 could not handle these paper sizes if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I need to solve this for a customer who has upgraded to FM 7 
exactly for easily converting large paper sized FM documents into pdf 
with the "save as... pdf" menu entry.
