MacOS and OS X use creator IDs to associate files with the applications that
created them. Does the confusion you describe for Windows platforms with
multiple versions of Acrobat/Reader also apply on Macintosh?

For those who need to test PDFs with different versions of Acrobat products,
would a solution be to create different user accounts and install a given
Acrobat product version only on a given user account? Or, is the Windows
Registry not able to manage this kind of separation? What about Mac?

Perhaps there's a "Preparation.ps" that will help the sufferers of your
terminal humoroids. Since they're "dry" it probably should be a soothing
ointment that can only be applied the right way.<G>
